Who We Are
Our website address is: summitfirearmsacademy.com
Summit Firearms Academy (“Summit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides firearms training classes, membership, and related services in the East Valley Phoenix metro area. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you book a class or event. Through our booking system (Amelia), we collect the information needed to schedule and confirm your class – typically your name, email address, phone number, and payment details. Payment is processed by Square; we do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
When you contact us. Our contact form collects your name, email, the topic you selected, and your message.
When you create a member account. If you join a membership (via Milo Subscriptions), we collect your name, email, billing address, and payment information to manage your subscription, process recurring billing, and give you access to member-only content.
When you interact with the site generally. Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information – IP address, browser type, pages visited, and similar data – typically through cookies and standard web server logs.
Comments and Reviews
If commenting or product reviews are enabled anywhere on this site (for example, on store items), we collect the data shown in the comment/review form, along with the commenter’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. If your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly alongside your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment or review, you may opt in to having your name, email, and website saved in a cookie for convenience on future comments. These cookies last one year.
If you log in to your member account, we set cookies to keep you logged in and remember your display preferences. Login cookies last about two days (two weeks if you select “Remember Me”); display-preference cookies last about a year. These are removed when you log out.
When you book a class or make a purchase, our booking and store systems (Amelia and WooCommerce) use cookies to manage your session and shopping cart.
We use WPConsent to manage cookie consent on this site. When you visit, you’ll be asked to accept or manage which categories of cookies you’re comfortable with.
Embedded Content
Pages on this site may include embedded content from other sites – for example, video hosted through our video library provider, or an embedded map showing our service area. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited that third-party site directly, and that site may collect data about you, use its own cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content.
Who We Share Your Data With
We share information with the third-party services that make the website and our booking/membership systems work, including:
- Amelia (class booking and scheduling)
- Milo Subscriptions (membership billing and account management)
- Fluent Forms (our contact form)
- Square (payment processing)
- WooCommerce (site analytics)
- An automated spam-detection service, for comment/review submissions if enabled
If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email as a standard security measure.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments/reviews, if enabled, are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up submissions automatically.
Booking and payment records are retained as needed for business and tax record-keeping purposes.
Member account information is retained for as long as your membership is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for account recovery and record-keeping purposes.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have a member account, have made a booking, or have left a comment, you can request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we delete your personal data, except where we’re required to retain it for legal, tax, or security purposes.
To make either request, contact us at summitfirearmsacademy@gmail.com or through our Contact page.
Children’s Privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Comment and review submissions, if enabled, may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. Payment information is sent to and processed by our payment processor. We do not knowingly transfer personal data outside the United States except as required by the third-party services listed above.
